  • Spring 17:  Pottery for Beginners

    This eight week course is offered for people with little or no pottery experience.  Learn about the characteristics of clay; create decorative and functional pieces through hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques.  Classes are small  so there's lots of opportunity for one-on-one instruction.   (Purchase clay at first class.)

    Date: Tuesdays, April 4 thru May 23.

    Time: 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM

    Fee: $190.00.

  • Spring 2017 - Pottery Studio Time

    A great opportunity to improve on your craft, share with fellow artists, and use our equipment. For all those with pottery experience or who have taken previous WAACC pottery courses, studio drop in times are available quarterly beginning with Jan. 1-Mar. 31. The studio is open as listed, as well as 2-3 other weekly scheduled times—Studio calendar will be available online or at registration. Participants will be expected to assist with tasks associated with running the studio. Please try to attend orientation on Jan.16 10-11 am.

    Date: Saturdays, September thru December

    Fee: $60.00.    Supplies: Purchased as needed.

  • Spring 2017 - Raku Firing - Intermediate Pottery

    A unique firing technique developed in the 16th century in Japan, this short Raku course will provide intermediate potters with the opportunity to learn the heating and cooling process and other techniques involved in creating a magical transformation of colors in their works of art. Purchase clay at first class. (Bring a Bag Lunch!)

    Date: Saturdays, March 27 thru June 3.

    Time: 10 to 4:30 PM

    Fee: $135.00.

For all Pottery Classes and Studio Times: Clay must be purchased from WAACC for $50.00 per ½ box of clay which includes use of tools, the cost of glazes and firing.
