  • Fall 17: Brazilian Embroidery - 17fFB224

    TClass for Adults.

    The ancient craft of three dimensional embroidery, for beginners or the more experienced.  A variety of stitches to create amazing, beautiful designs will be taught. Students should bring a 5” embroidery hoop and scissors.

  • Fall 17: Quilting Project Time - 17fFB228

    This is a self directed “project time” time for beginner to intermediate quilters. Bring a new or existing project that you would like to work on.  Facilitator provides coaching and support for all levels of quilting experience. Iron and ironing board supplied by Craft Centre.   Fee covers 8 weeks. $10 drop-in fee.

  • Fall 17: Sewing for Beginners - 17fFB223

    Class for: Adults

    This course is geared specifically to people who have no or very little experience sewing. By sewing two projects, you will learn how your sewing machine works as well as basic techniques of reading a pattern, measuring and cutting material, piecing material together, sewing and pressing seams and a myriad of other “do’s” and “don’ts”.

    Date: Saturdays, October 14 thru October 28.

    Time: 10 am to 2 pm

  • Fall 17: Hardanger - 17fFB225

    This is a traditional form of Scandinavian embroidery using counted thread and drawn thread work techniques.  In this seven week course, beginners will learn basic hardanger stitches while more advanced participants will work on their own projects or project suggestions to challenge their skills.  Notions and material for the course are purchased from the instructor.

  • Fall 17: Needle Felting Figurines - 17fFB227

    Learn to needle felt scraps of wool into a figurine of any creature or object you like, you can even make them pose-able by putting pipe cleaners inside. Wool figurines are light-weight and virtually impossible to break so they can be cherished for years!  This would be a great mother and daughter activity.

    This is a beginner course in which to learn basic knitting techniques and undertake your very first knitting project – a scarf or a head band.   Bring to class:  1 – 2 balls of worsted weight yarn, 2.5 – 5 mm knitting needles, a darning needle and a pair of scissors.
